I checked the oil and it's exactly in the middle of the two holes on the dipstick which indicate the recommended range. This warning popped up 5 or 6 times today on my way back from my parents' house in NC. I did a little agressive driving on a few backroads getting to the highway, but after that it was all low RPM highway cruising. Everything else was normal.
Any thoughts? Sensor failing? Needs to be completely topped off?
I searched, but didn't find anything..... Flame suit on.
i got home and added 4th of a quart... didnt come on again. Its been said on this forum that its just a glitch, many get it and it just goes off. If the pressure is fine 25-60 then youre good.
It was time for a change anyway so I took it to my trusty jiffylube (they even let me under the car in the basement) and it hasnt come on since.
and I do change my own oil but it was like 10 degrees outside.

Yes, mine started to trip the light and it was just a stuck float. I ended up changing the oil and that cured it. I still have the replacement part. I ended up adding oil on a late night ride home in the middle of nowhere. That god the guy following me had oil. Scared the hell out me with a brand new 408 during break in. I ended up with a slight overfill, better to have than not.

the sensor is very touchy and the oil needs to be topped up to the top line and then you wont have any problems. This has happened to me several times and there has been more that adequate oil in the system.cheers
I had the same problem with my 01 Tahoe (probably the same sensor). 1st trip to dealer, they reflashed computer. When problem came back, they replaced the sensor. Four years later, no recurrrence.

Now THAT was a comprehensive post. Thanks for the info. It didn't come on at all yesterday or today, so I'll continue to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the help.
