i had to make a few emergency stops this year because of people pulling out in front of me. when i slammed on the brakes and came to a stop the engine reved up will my foot was still on the brake . this doesnt seem normal to me. any1 else have this problem?
Yes, if you have your foot too far to the right you can press both the brake and gas pedal at the same time can be a little scary. Of course I have size 12 gunboats and diabetes which means my feet are a bit numb, not a good combination, I have to be extra careful where I place my feet. When I used to road race this was an advantage as I never mastered the heel/toe manuever for accelerating out of corners.
Poor design, if the brake pedal was 1/4" higher, it would never occur.Although proper placement of your foot will eliminate the problem,it seems as long as any part of your foot is on the brake pedal ,it should never happen, but it does, at least a dozen times for me over three years.Close calls but no accidents, thank goodness!

Not necessarily a poor design and some of us actually want to cover both pedals with one foot.
For example, if you use heel and toe, then the fact that the brake pedal is level with the accelerator under hard braking makes it quite a subtle and very useful enhancement.
How did you get your socks to turn color? That's way cool.
I did the same thing the first week I had the car. I went to a fancy restaurant and the entrance was on an incline. I didn't know the parking brake was so flaky... I set it and got out of the car to let the valet park it, yeah, I know... As I stood up, my wife yells to me, "the car is moving!" Sure enough, it was starting to roll down the incline backwards! I jumped in and stomped on the brake, and revved it to around 5500rpm's, I had Corsa Indy's on it too! Anyway, I told the valet I would park it, since the parking brake wasn't working too well. Sheesh!
