Default Trailer Tie-downs

What's the correct way to tie-down a C5 on a trailer? Does anyone have any documentation on this? Thanks.

I have seen different answers to this. Some people save to go around the a-arms while others say that might bend them. I have seen straps for the tires, but never used them.

When I towed I used tie down with ratchet buckles and alxe straps. The straps were the best. Basically they are strong material that use can swing around the alxe or whatever. You then can hook your tie downs right to the end of them. It is just much easier to be under the car with those then with the tie down.

One thing I do know in the back use the criss cross method. You will want the left side tie down to be attached to the right side of the car and the right side attached to the left side.

hoepfully someone else will chime in and give better advice...

A lot of good information there Tom. That's exactly how I tie mine down. I do however run my cars up on a set of 2X10's about 3 feet long to give me a little more room under the car to reach the tiedown points. It also adds a little clearance between the straps and the spoilers in the front.

A good trailer is worth every bit you spend on it, and if it's enclosed can even double as a garage in a pinch.

Good luck... GUSTO

I use the same method described by Tom, the

using T-hooks attached to the tie down points on the siderails. I've towed my car probably 30k miles to various races in the last three years without a problem.
