Default Seat Belt Problem

Have 98 C5 and passenger side seat belt will not retract. Need to know how to take off all plastic panels that hide the belt on that side. Once I get them off, I'll probabaly try to unjam or replace seat belt mechanism but don't want to break any panels when I attempt to remove.

Anybody with any experience removing these??

I haven't removed the panels...so not much help.

But I've had this problem numerous times. The issue I've had is that it twists while going in and then gets stuck.

I've successfully pulled, yanked, jiggled, and everything else and finally got it pull out. (that sounds bad) It took about 5 minutes, and I have no clue what finally got it to release.

Make sure when you do get it free, you let it go back slow and straight.

There is a safety recall for these belts. A dealer will install extenders to prevent twisted/locked belts. It will NOT cost you anything.
