Default Installed Hurst Shifter

This shifter is sooo much better than stock. I can't believe I've waited almost 2 years to make this change.

Thanks to Patches and all the others that posted installation pictures and instructions.

I left the shift springs and settings as it came from Hurst. It's firm, we'll see how I like it in a few weeks. I can always soften it up some if needed.

I purchased a mini rubber plunger head from Lowe's and slid it over the stock rubber boot. Not sure if I needed it, but I know a lot of you have had noise issues. All is quiet and no resonance or vibrations.

I would recommend the Hurst. It's the only aftermarket shifter I've used, but the short throws are awesome. I feel like a kid with a new toy!!!

I love mine. Had one in two different C5s.

I went with the original springs for a bit too, but then went with the very light springs. Gives it a real nice positive, notchy (I like that) feel without overt sideward effort. I'm not a drag racer so strong centering isn't all that big a deal for me.

Glad you're enjoying it!

I also just installed the Hurst with the original springs. So far I really like it. A big thanks to Patchs. His instructions made this job so easy.

Agree 100%. Can't understand why anyone would want the stock shifter or why GM would install it!!!!
