Default Replacing Wheel bearings

It looks like there are like 3 torx bolts behind the hub and it would just pull out. Is it that simple? Does it just slide out or would I need a slide hammer? Any words of wisdom?

Just drop the lower ball joint low enough to reach the bottom torx.

...and there is the key..sure it comes out with all the torx screws removed, but you got to get to the last one. I rented a ball joint pop'er from Autozone, but you might be able to pop it without it.

Ya, it really bothers me that they put the lower torx bolt right behind the lower ball joint. Seems like there is enough room that they could have put the bolts in a place you could get to them without splitting the lower ball joint.

To separate the knuckle from the ball joint without special tool loosen the nut then smack the knuckle hard with a heavy hammer dead on. One or two hits is usually sufficient to separate taper fit. You will probably leave a slight impression in the aluminum but it is barely noticeable. Avoid inaccurate hits as damage to stud or even fender could result!

Or use a block of wood on the a-arm and hit that with the hammer.
