Has anyone ever added Techron & had the check engine light come on???
Check to make sure you put your gas cap on tight, a loose one will throw a code..........or if you look out your driver's side mirror and see a falp open or hear a banging on your fender...that is also a good sign.
I too have some doubt that the Techron caused the Check Engine Light (CEL) to set. A steady CEL is likely an indication of an emission control system malfunction. As someone mentioned above, check your gas cap to insure it is installed correctly and sealing properly. A flashing CEL may indicate a misfire or more serious problem. Your owner's manual should also contain more info on the CEL that you may want to review. Too, try running your car's onboard diagnostics and check for trouble codes that may give you some indication as to any problem that might cause the CEL to set:

I just put it in and have been running on it the past 150 miles with no issues so far. The car only has 9K miles so it's the first time I've used it on the vette. I use it every 10K miles or so on all my cars for the past 10 years with no issues.
I've never had that happen (and have never heard of it happening due to Techron )
I always add a bottle of Chevron Proguard (Fuel System Cleaner w/Techron) at every oil change to each of my vehicles, been doing this for many years now.
The post about the gas cap not being secure definitely sounds like a possibility (this I HAVE experienced ), not my Vette but on another vehicle.
Thanks to all for the suggestion- I did check the cap and restart with no luck. Perhaps some emissions element has burnt out because there are no other symptoms at all- running fine and nothing out of the ordinary. I did fill it up and had added techroline because I thought that was supposed to be good stuff every once in awhile to "keep the injectors clean" and all that. It aint cheap either. But then out of the blue the check engine light is on, so I was hopeful that may have been the reason. I'd like to take it out for a drive (to clear it maybe) but concerned to do that with a light on.
