My driver side headlight was making the famous motor noise where after the headlight goes down, the motor is still turning.
So, I bought brass gears and replaced both headlight motor gears. When I go to test it out...the passenger one works fine as it always had but now the driver side one when turned on goes up/down/up/down/up/down, etc...and finally stays up. And when you turn them off...the pass side one goes right down like normal but the drivers side goes up/down/up/down, etc...and sometimes closes full down or just stops somewhere inbetween.
Any ideas...do I need to pull the motor back out just to check?
There are "stoppers" that tell the assembly where it is in the stroke. There is a TSB on this, instructing a technician to add shims / washers / bumbers to correct this. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/....php?qstId=252
If this only started after your re-assembly, then it didn't go back together exactly as it came apart. Look up that TSB, see if it helps.

Mine did the same thing. You need to insure you have the arm connected to the motor correctly. If you don't, it will miss the stopper and go up and down like crazy.... That is all it is, fix that and you will be fine.
