The oxogen sensors have little sleeves that eventualy break loose. this happened to me and I got a ginglely type of rattle at certain rpm's. This does not, though, interfere with the function of the sensors. This was the 2 rears sensors, behind the cats.
I've heard that an X-pipe will help also. Headers and an Indy exhaust fixed my annoying jingle. Hey, it's almost Christmas, you might want to leave it for a couple of more weeks.
I have a 99 that makes the "jingle" when I accelerate, and some times when I turn the car off. Is this "jingle" same as the a4's problem or am I looking at a new beast?
I have a similar noise on my '98. I believe the noise is due to a missing heat shield clip on the center tunnel where the exhaust is piped to the rear. Only does it when its cold. Two clips on either side and one of mine is gone. Need to put it up in the air and start it when its cold - and find a replacement clip!!!!!!!
