Thr Deltron blurb states:
"Battery Tender Plus's new BTP microchip technology applies the correct peak charge, then automatically maintains the battery at the perfect float voltage which virtually eliminates battery destroying sulfation."
That isn't saying that it "desulphates", but that, by keeping a constant high enough voltage, it prevents sulphation during the storage period. That is a completely different thing. I believe that most, if not all, decent maintainers (Sears, Fleet Farm, etc., for $20-$30) do that. No need to pay any more, IMHO.

Snow on ground already...looks like it is going to be a long winter.
Never used a battery tender before...which one does anyone recommend? Price?
I always drove the car through the winter, but with this early snow, don't think it will be an option for a little while (more snow on way tomorrow).
Same deal here, and I purchased a black and decker auto float charger from walmart with a nifty cigarett lighter atachment, but I am wondering if there is any trouble with leaving the battery hooked up in the car and have the charger working with the electrical system in the car. anyone know if there could be a collision of electronics in this case

I leave a Schumacker float charger on my 85 and my 01 all winter.
