Passive Unlock
I have a 97. I bought the car with no keyless fobs. I am looking at getting a new fob, but have a question about the passive feature. Do i just need a fob equipped with the passive feature, or does my car require something different in the ecu to recognize the signal from the fob to perform the passive unlock? Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that 3 different versions of fobs were made for the different C5 model years ('97-'99, '00, & '01-'04) and you need the correct fob for your model year for it to work correctly. You may need to check with your local Chevy parts guy to insure you have the right number before buying there or elsewhere to ensure you are buying the correct fob.
