Default Resetting Computer

Took my 02 for inspection and new tags this morning. After several weeks in the garage the battery was dead. Jump started it and drove directly to the inspection station. Failed the inspection as the computer had not reset completely and catalyst, evaporative, and 02 heater read out as "unready." The inspector suggested I drive it for a half hour or so and that should be sufficient to reset the computer. Did so and it failed again. He told me that there is a sequence of actions that will speed up resetting the comp such as start, idle 30 seconds, shut off, restart, etc. He told me what it's called which I promply forgot.

Does anyone know what this process is called and where to find it?

Thanks.

BTW - picked up a trickle charger to keep the battery charged.

It takes about 50 ignition cycles for an OBD II computer to become "ready"

The battery tender works awesome, which one did you get?

I got the Deltran Battery Tender Plus. It is supposed to charge the battery, then hold, or float, the charge and not overcharge.
