Calif. head and cam mods????
Looking for all of the California street car owners that have mods done to their car.
With the strict emissions here, and the DREADED VISUAL inspection, please help me with what mods will pass.
I am interested in the doing HEAD and CAM upgrade, with FULL headers and exhaust on a C5- ZO6
. So my questions are:
1) What is the biggest cam I can get?
2) AFR or ET heads? What chamber size?
3) What headers will pass Cali emissions/CARB requirement.
4) what can expect for HP and TQ gains.?
I DONT care about a LUMPY idle,(I REQUIRE IT
) as this car will only be driven to TRACK events, and at night, and IS NOT a daily driver.

To start with if your really actually going to keep it CA legal you can do the following. \
1. Cam can not go past 224/224, keep the LSA at 114.
2. Heads are your choice both brands you list are outstanding, keep the stock chamber size.
3. Only shorty headers are legal in CA so don't think about anything else there.
4. You should be able to get into the 400 to 415 HP range with those mods.
5. You will also need a good tune, hardened push rods and upgraded 921 springs, double roller timing chain and if it were me I would add a ported oil pump since your right there anyway.
