Need help getting glove box open
I've a 98 that unlocking glove box with key releases latch however, glove box will only open about 1/4 inch. It seams to get caught on something or like it has a two stage latch. The only item inside is owners manual. Have had no luck sliding credit card through or homemade thin cardboard slim jim. Looks like may have to drill out hinge fasteners. Any better solution that won't cause damage? Thanks, Bill D

Yeah my glove box gets caught up some times too. You're owners manual is in there at an angle catching the top of the opening as you pull the door down. Try shaking the door up and down to try and bring the manual down. You can also try using something to either push the bottom of your manual up to release the top of it or try to catch the top of the manual and pull it down.

Well it's been over 4ys since I originally posted this problem. Decided to revisit sliding/poking coat hanger again. Whala - got it open! Owners manual was wedged up top between latch and right side of glove box. Owners manual about 1" two long to fit in glove box worry free. I highly recommend keeping owner's manual in a rear compartment.
