Default Question for COLD WEATHER members...

My question has to do with aftermarket "heated seats".

I just saw two different makes advertised on one of the Forum supporters (P.F.Y.C.) websites. One make listed for $99 per unit, the other $75. Either of the prices, are within my budget, which brings me to the next question.

Has anyone installed, or had installed, "heated seat" kit(s) in your C5?

Would be very interested in getting some feedback on your experience.

Thanks in advance.......

Yes,, I installed the PFYC heated seat kit in my 98 Coupe and my Z06. They work very well and I have never regretted it. The install is pratically invisible except for the switch on the side panel of the seat.

I have some very good suggestions for the install and some pictures. I am in Bahrain right now and will be home next week. Im using hotmail and cant get to my pictures from here. Please let me know if you need any extra info.

The install will take about an afternoon and you can purchase everything that you need hardware wise from Wallmart, Advance or Pepboys (wire, connectors, fuses ect ect.)

I purchased a C6 and it came with heated seats.

The ones I installed in my C5 work just about as well.

If you simply can't wait for Bill to get back from Bahrain, here's a link to the installation instructions, so you can see what you are in for:

You may want to check this web site, they specialize in heated seats, and are the only ones that sell the official licensed GM heated seat kits:

http://www.seatheater-heatedseats.com/

See the second column, second entry for:

GM & Mopar Licensed Car Seat Heater Kit - Model Specific

These kits are vehicle seat specific and are pre-cut to fit exactly in your seat. They install between the seat cover material and the seat cushion. Available for most cars and Licensed by GM for their vehicles.
