The seat motor for the passenger seat in my Friends '00 vette keeps running even when the car is off. We got him to disconnect the plug so it doesn't keep running. Search yielded one or two people having this problem and had to have the motor replaced. Anyone else have this problem, is there anything else to check before going to the stealership (or can this be fixed by a normal person)
Thanks,
Chris

Reason: More Info
Check the switches on the seat... these things go bad and keep applying power even when released. It's not just a Corvette thing either; I've replaced about half a dozen on different vehicles in the past couple of years.
You can try "blipping" the switch with your finger to see if you can get it to cut off. If it works, you've confirmed it is the switch.

I'll pass on the information to him. He is going to plug the seat back in tonight and move it back. He does have control over the seat from the switch, it just moves forward once he is done moving it.

Most people replace good motors only to find out it's the switch
It is not the seat movement motor. He had the car at work, so I went down to have a look. The seat moves fine on its own. It appears to be a problem with the Lumbar or Side Bolster controls.
You can feel the seat vibrating. If I hit the switch down for the upper or lower lumbar switch, or try to adjust the side bolster, the vibration/noise stops.
I couldn't tell if the air was flowing into the bladders or not. Should he get the switches replaced first, or is there something else to check.
Anyone know how easy it is to get to the switches. I can see one access screw to remove the trim, but I don't see any others.
if the motor keeps running there's nothing wrong with the motor - that's what it's supposed to do. I can't believe someone would change out the motor with those symtoms. The problem HAS to be with either a switch or , if there is one, a relay - but not the motor.
