Which C5 is most MOD friendly?

Which C5 is most MOD friendly?
I've heard the '99 is the most receptive to modify but there are alot of mods for all of the 5's. I've only had experience with my 2001. I am happy with the mods I've done and in fact I'm just now installing the Superchip Microtuner,Pro Torque and 3.42's which should really give me the response I'm looking for.There just seems to be an awful lot you can do with a pre- 2000.
If GM keeps adding h.p. and torque with each new model,what's a guy to mod? How about a 2003 Z08 450h.p. Then what? :confused:
