Header Leak ????
What are some signs of headers leaking?. While im driving i hear this noise coming from under the car, it sounds like a fly on steroids is the best way to discribe it. also when i start speeding up from a stop, it feels like the car needs more throttle to get past 30mph. i dont know but it just sounds and feels weird. thanks for any input and suggestions to check for something like this. i have dynatech long tubes with x-pipe and hi flow cats, and corsa indy exhaust on an A4.

many times header leaks will sound like a engine ticking, I don't think a small leak would effect engine performance that much. Mabe a good tune would make it better. As for the noise "a fly on steroids isn't much to go on.

One of the header manufacturers told me that where the tubes come together, you can't fully weld that piece so there is a slight leak on all headers. That being said, sounds like your problem is worse. You need to find the source.
