Default Turn Signals on crack??

my 97 has a weird turn signal frequency...meaning when I turn them on they speed up and slow down at will?? I can watch the dash indicator as well as the outside lights go up and down in speed as I just sit there...

Any ideas? should I get a new flasher switch? all bulbs are working...

As soon as you said 97,,,I got the shakes as I flashed back to the crack smoking weird issues that I had on my early 98! I was ready to burn the car!!

The very first thing that I would check (and it's FREE ) are the under hood grounds. There are two that come to mind that effect that circuit. They are chassis ground g-101 & g-102.

They are located just to the in board side of the area where the hood support struts mount to the frame. To properly check for corossion, you will need to completely disassemble the ground connector. Disassemble the ground connector and look for corosion. If you need further guidance, please let me know.

I bet that is your problem!

Here is a blow by blow of what the plug looks like inside and the corrosion that I found on mine.

Here is the ground connector G-101:

Here is the plastic retainer that secures the male and female sides of the connector together.

Here are the male and female pins and corrossion:
