Default Electrical problems!!!!! HELP!

For about 1 week now I am having bad electrical problems with my 02 Z06. Sometime when I start it up I will get a real bad erratic idle, it misses real bad and sound like something is coming loose in the drivetrain. Then all of the sudden it goes away and everthing is fine. Also my guages will just all of the sudden go crazy and swing back and forth. Also I can be driving dow the street and I will get "low engine power" and " service engine soon" and "service traction control" on the dic. I am also have gotten all of the following codes: TCS: C1221H, C1222H, C1248H BCM: U1096H SDM: U1016H, U1040H, U1096H, U1064H IPC: B0516H RADIO: U1016H LDCM: B2282H, B2284H, U1064H
RDCM: B2283H, B2285H, U1064H RFA: U1255H, U1016H

I have cleaned all of the grounds on the car. I clean the MAF, I replaced the battery, spark plugs, plug wires. So far my only mods are LG Longtubes and a k&N airfilter. I have double and triple checked that no wires are even close to the headers. I looked at my BCM, the silver box under the passenger side kick panel and it was not wet or damp at all. I don't know what else to do and I was trying everthing in my power to keep from having to take it to the dealership. Anyones suggestions at this point would be great.

I would pull the accordian tube between the doors and body and check the door harness connectors.

You can also look at the code while car running and experiencing the condition. Next time it appends, pull on the side of the road at a safe place and read the codes. Hopefully, you will find a or some Current codes.

Yes. I always do it. And you can reset them too. I had a reduce power once. I rested the codes and car went back to normal without restarting it.

Ok I checked the codes while it was running and while it was missing and really messing up bad. Under the pcm on the diagnostic check it came back "NO COMM"?????? I guess that means that the pcm looses power for a moment and then comes back online. This stuff is so frustrating!!!!! Anyone ever had this happen to them??

When my gauges were doing this exact same thing I went crazy tracking everything down down to pulling the seats and door panels. It all started with just the driver's window switch not working.

I replaced the battery and it fixed everything. That was a few weeks ago, everything is still perfect without even a flutter.

I had similar codes service traction control, abs, etc, also guages would go dead, but I also had charge system fault in the dic. I took it to the dealer ask them to find the short they insisted it was the alt I had a spare alt put on it and no difference they then tried to say the second alt was defective or the new red top was bad or there was to much heat from the headers and whole elec harness had to be replaced. I took it to a real auto elec shop and they traced it to a short in the starter wire harness. NO trouble sense.

My advice whenever there are electrical gremlins - start by checking the battery. All sorts of issues can be the result of low voltage. See if you can fully charge the battery, then see what happens.

make sure the battery is good, make sure all the connections are tight[grounds on block, positive cable on starter,etc.].i don't know how long ago the headers were put in,but i know when i did mine i had to remove the grounds on the side of the block[i think it was the left side].your faults all seem to do with communication[lack of].the can data links are all under the right side near the bcm,but doubt that's where the problem is.it almost sounds like you have a bad/loose connection somewhere.

I did not have all of the problems you have mentioned just the reduced power and such. When you get the messages in the DIC does your passenger door locks and window quit and the radio go out? If so it may be similar problem to mine. I ended up having to replace what the dealer called the remote unit that is in the "trunk" area on the drivers side. Double sided tape is used to hold the plastic on, just pull it apart and you will see the little unit and the plug. I got the part from the dealer but you may be able to get the part online too. Good luck.

Well I fixed my problem last night. My dumb$*# left the ground on the passenger side of the motor right above the starter loose when I did my header install. I tightened that up and my problem went away!!! Oh well in the process of trying to figure out what my problem was I cleaned every ground on the car, got a new battery and also got a chance to vaccum my carpet out underneath my seats when I took them out last night!! Now I can drive her around again!!!!!!!
