leaking diff

leaking diff
installed a new rear end having leaking issue. I put a z06 rear in my c5. It is leaking. I put the seal back in wen I was taking it out of the old rear end I scratched the very bottom edge. would that cause it to leak?if so how can I fix this. thanks.

I'm pretty sure that will require removing the diff and sealing it. You want to place a thin bead of silicone around the o-ring that seals the diff to the tranny. I use copper for the sealer.
