Default Header ??

I'm installing my LG lt's tomorrow and noticed that in the "LS1 how to do" section tells me that I will only be using my back O2 sensors. Looks like My vette will be throwing some sensor codes. Will this hurt the the performance/normal driving of my car until I can get a dyno tune to turn off these sensors?

I noticed Yellow locktite on my manifold bolts during the teardown of my stock manifolds, but follow the install instruction they only mention the anti-sieze. Should I be using the anti-siez and locktite? This header swapout was a major project, sure wished I would have come off the wallet and paid for the install.

Thanks
Mike P.

Confused What makes you think you'll throw codes ? You have O2 sims right.

NO locktite !!! anti-sieze only.

It won't throw codes. It comes with sims. I bought some plugs to plug up the rear holes, because I did'nt want to stick the old front sensors in there not hooked up. Mine is throwing codes (for now) cause I deleted the air pump. If you did'nt, your fine. Install? I thought it was a breeze. Just get the front way up there and the drivers side slides right in. The pass. goes in from the top, I had to unbolt the starter for it to clear. PM or post if you need any help, it's fresh on my mind.

I didn't know that the LG came with O2 sims. I didn't purchase any nor did I know that I needed them. As I read the LS1 How To DO it didn't mention anything about O2 Sims, just that I was going to us my rear 02 sensors only. I got the car up 19" know I don't like having having it up that high with me under it. I have removed my fuel line and brake booster vacume line to see if can put the driver side in from the top. I'll attempt go from the bottom on the drivers side first then we I run out of patients I'll look towards the top. So not lock tite? I am using the original manifold bolts. Just setting here waiting on the UPS truck and getting smart about the install.

Thanks for your responces on this issue. Any last minute info give me a call on the land line @ 850 683-3991

Yea, I used the stock bolts as well. They are great. Not like LT1's...lol. I needed about 24 " for the drivers to slide in from the bottom. I had ramps under the front tires, in case it fell, but I jacked it up with a floor jack and 2 4x4 blocks of Oak. Jumped under there slide it in and got out.

Thanks guys for all your insight to this install. Biggest hurdles is cutting the cats so you can squeaze them onto the collector. Made two cuts on each end of cats and clamps didn't budge. Going to cut each end of cats in four places and see if clamps will work then. Running wired for all four O2 sensors was a chore. Took alot of my time zip tieing and re-routing wires. Headers were a breaze on the driver side and had a little snag on passenger side due to A/C lines. I ahave to cut/trim dip stick mount bracket to allow dip stick tub to set properly. I'll hit it first thing in the morn with a call to LG for some last minute questions.

Thanks again for all your help and insight
