Looks good. One question though.. You seem to indicate the plastic used for the new head lamp enclosure is easily scratched.. What kind of durability can we expect vs. the stock plastic pieces? And how much (hint: cheaper = sell more, more expensive = sell less)?

You put any smooth piece of polycarbonate on rough surface you are going to scratch it. The materials we used are not cheap they are DOT regulated also. It is better to be safe than cussing at yourself later for letting it slide on the concrete floor. The housing should withstand weather as good if not better than the stock housing.

We use polycarbonate. Our specs are APEC polycarbonate from Bayer and Lensgard from Rohm Hass.

Retail on the kit is $1500
You will get a discount and free shipping because of forum
This is a full DOT compliant upgrade kit
DOT regulates not only light output but also the materials used.
We only use phillips electronics

The forum price is not posted publicly. There is a minimum advertised price policy on the kit. I have 30 kits stock right now shipped 24 hours after order placed via fed ex ground.

Thanks for putting together the installation documentation. I'll be doing my installation (along with a bunch of other mods) starting next week so the timing is perfect.

Some questions I have received and the answers

#1 ) Will there be another gp?
The next gp will be next fall pm me for forum pricing

#2) What in the kit is proprietary ?
Bulbs and ballasts are standard D1s low beam bulb same as the new Corvette. The ballast is available online from many sources. It is a philips Gen 3 Ballast. You can buy both from me but they are covered buy warranty from philips.
At this point the housing pricing is not broken down yet but replacements and pricing will be available soon.
The only thing proprietary is the housing and the projector.

#3) Why the 9011 in high beam ?
The 9011 bulb produced better light and was more comparable to the hid low beam. The housing socket will accept a 9005 bulb also.

Replacement Housing if you have a accident will be $300.00 exchange each. I will need the broken housing and projector back.
You will only be able to order one from me if you purchased the whole kit from me.
Electronics are available on a exchange basis also. D1S Bulbs can be bought from gm audi or VW or from me
you will need to pm for current price when you need them.
Ballasts I will have at least 10 extra in stock at all times. I will try to find a car that uses the same ballast and post the numbers to make them easier to get in a hurry.
Your HID upgrade kit is covered for three years against defects and Phillips covers the Bulbs and Ballasts for 10,000 hours of use. Phillips does not cover for installation error or misuse.

Thanx
Brian

Does the stock light harness come out when you do this upgrade?

Thanks!

Nope
This system is completely reversible. You do not even make a change to your harness at all.

Got to try these last night for the first time. Awesome! I actually could see almost as well as daytime; I have had a problem for some time with my night vision and making out contrasts/ reading road signs. Really made a huge difference. Still need to adjust them and plan to do that before driving again- hopefully this weekend
