I am looking for the HUD kit to convert my 1998 to a HUD setup, I have read a couple forums about the installation process and steps. Now, I am looking for the cost of the kit, Fred Beans had a kit for about $239.00 or $300.00 is this the complete kit needed to make this conversion?
You'll need a HUD enabled Inst. cluster ( I bought one on ebay for $116), an 11 wire HUD harness (this item can be hard to find--cost $50+/- $25, The so called kit, approx $300, and $75-$90 to reprogram your odometer. That's the stuff you'll need. Oh ya, time and effort to install the HUD. Good luck w/ your project.
I man to contact is Pacethis (Josh). He can set you up with everything you need, including instructions. I just completed my install. AWESOME! AWESOME!
I agree. Contact forum member "PaceThis". Josh is an excellent person to deal with and will hook you up with all the new parts that you need to install HUD in your car. He has done numerous HUD installs on many forum members cars' and by the time he gets done, it looks factory install if not better. BTW, he uses all genuine GM parts
Just completed my install today. I took way too long doing it but then I work slow. It wasn't really all that hard to do by myself. I also hardwired the X50 while I was in there and installed the RedLine red trim pieces on the shifter, e-brake handle and console lid.

Without him, my car would be hudless! The instal was amazingly simple, the most difficult part was pulling the dash apart and putting it back together. We drilled 2 holes, mounted the projector, cut the dash pad and re-installed everything. I love it!
