Trying to figure out how these work. I was thinking about getting new rims and didnt know if i need to use the stock sensors, buy new sensors for this specific year (2000 vert) and add them to the new rims or if i could change rim size (18" front instead of 17") and have em still work thanks for any help
Reg.
What type of new rims do you want? Are you looking to go to a different C5/C6 version of wheel?
For whatever wheel you get, if the stock sensors can be used in the valve stem location of the new wheel, you would be set, no need to buy anything. If the wheels wont accept them in the valve location, then you would need to buy wheel bands to strap them to the center of the inside wheel, or do without tire sensors.
No matter, you would need to keep your stock sensors.
Im looking at getting a set of Z06 rims from a 2002. i think 97-2000 have the same sensors and 2001-2004 have there own set of sensors,is this correct? I would have to swich the sensors off my rims onto the new ones?

Bob, your sensors will work on the ZO-6 rims. You can switch them to the new rims or get a new set since they're probably approaching the end of their battery life. I did the same swap on my 2000 FRC but purchased a new set of sensors from GM Parts Direct.
Good luck... you're gonna love those wheels... GUSTO
keep this up and we are going to have to have a seperate tire pressure sensor forum. there must be five or six different active threads posted on sensors
