Default Headers Question?

Alright I have been thinking of getting some headers for my 03 z06 because I have some money from Christams. My upgrades so far are a halltech stinger ssm, B&M short throw shifter, and BB Bullet quad tip exhuast. Now, if I decided that I want to get headers but do not want to buy the h-pipe and the high flow cats at the same time can I? I dont think that I can buy the LG Long tube headers without the h pipe and the cats? If I could would that bolt up to my stock h pipe until I decided to replace it?? I have heard thinks about kooks meaning that are the best if you plan on superchargin or heavly modding your car later down the road is this true? What is the hp difference between the most popular headers?? Im just kind of confused over this whole thing. Thanks a lot for any help!.

FIRST-MOST OF THE HEADER MANUFACTURES MAKE A GOOD PRODUCT!be it lg,kooks, dynamaxx, etc.it all depends on what you want to spend.
do a search and you will get all the ya-ya,opinions,arguements,etc.on headers.
i went with the lg's after i did a 6 month research on headers in general.go to HEADERDESIGN.COM and read it.then look into the headers.my advice, before you spend a dime, decide whether or not you are going to increase displacement, are you going to stay aspirated or do you plan to go to forced induction, etc.
whatever you do,just don't go and buy headers to buy headers.search it out,do it once, done deal.in my opinion you want to put a x pipe in if you do headers,a h pipe tends to defeat the scavenge effect that headers provide.

DPD hit the nail on the head. You need to decide if your car is going to stay stock cubes, NA, or eventually move to forced induction.

Why would you not want to put in an x-pipe when you do the LT's?

I just bought LG's new C5 Street Series Long tubes and couldn't be happier. I purchased the high flow cats and the system came with the off raod pipe also if I want to change and make my car louder down the road. You won't go wrong with A LG LT setup. Call them and ask to talk to Lou, he'll answere any question you might have about his product. He just doesn't sell his stuff, he races and wins with it!!!

Of all the major brands of headers, almost all come with an X-pipe and either Hi-flow cats, off-road pipes, or both. The only ones I know of that don't are TPIS. This allows them to be probably the cheapest C5 headers, although you will need to weld up a connection to the stock midpipes. They are also the oldest design, being introduced shortly after the C5 debuted. Just my $0.02 worth, but the newer, more complete designs probably make more power and are easier to install, being complete systems, all the way to the cat-back. That's why I have LG Pro LTs with cats.
