hud swap
Ok, I have a 2000 convertible with heads up and a 2002 without. If I wanted to take the hud out of the 00 and put it in the 02, could it be done? Can the heads up and harness come out or does that cluster have to be coupled with it? Or, will the hud with harness plug into the existing cluster on the 02? Thanks for any help.

YES, the hud has the harness PERMANENTLY attached to the hud itself(projector), the aft mount is on the magnesium column support, the two front mount locations need to be drilled for screws
you will not need to swap cluster, just the 11 pin wire harness which goes to the hud switch to the back of the cluster, along w/ the hud switch and the dash pads
it takes about 30-40 minutes to remove the cluster, dash pad and all the required bits
if you are in the CT area i can help out w/ the upgrade
a pic of the aft hud proj. mount(it's already there)--the 'u'
this is the forward left mount tab on the hud which needs to be drilled
i think you could do the entire swap from the 2000 to 2002 in < 3 hours, the only difficult task would be mounting/drilling the 2 holes for the forward hud mounting tabs
