I'm upgrading the stereo in my '99 coupe but plan to keep the stock H/U. I replaced the tweeters with some new Alpines as recommended by many in this Forum. I plan to replace the rears and then add a small sub soon.
My question is "while I have the panels off should I put some Dynamat on the inside of the door? I think it will cut down on some road noise and may increase the bass...but I'm not sure what it will do since the Bose woofers "fire" into the door. I can't find any threads on this...any thoughts???

I put a full sheet of DynaMat Extreme in each door. I had to take my time and do a little bending etc in order to get it in. I had enough room between the outer skin and the round "door safety beam". I left the backing paper on until I got it in place and then peeled the backing paper off starting at the top and working to the bottom. Kinda tricky, but if you have a little patience, it's not too bad.
They do provide some extra insulation from outside noise and don't interfere with the Bose woofers at all. HTH
I used Dynamat and Fatmat (two layers) in all accessible areas of the doorskin. Gave the doors a nice solid feel when closing. Also used a bass pad behind each subwoofer. These are adhesive backed rubber-like rings (Crutchfiled, Parts Express). They are designed to help reflect the sound to where it is desired. After changing just rear speakers and front 3-1/2 speakers, my stereo sounded so much better than stock. I don't have any rattles when volume is turned up and you can really feel the subwoofers firing against your leg. In fact, I don't plan on replacing anytime soon as it is more than adequate for the moment.
