Default X-pipe resonator/muffler???

I have removed my mufflers and was running straight pipes out the rear with LT headers. It was a nice sound. Then for some reason (to annoy neighbors maybe or just having to locate a horse or two), I have removed my cats. The car is way to loud. I want the car loud, but this is over the top. I was wondering if one of those x-pipe resonators/muffler things like on the Borla XR-1 would quiet it down.
I would leave the cats off but do not want to buy an x-pipe resonator/muffler if it will not make some difference. Any thoughts and or sites that have just this x-pipe for sale. SLP used to have one but I can no longer find it...................

An X-pipe is not a "muffler." It will change sound, but not necessarily reduce the level. You can pick one up from one of the vendors on the Forum and install it.

To reduce the sound, it's cat-back (or in your case catless-back) exhaust time.

you can try some high flow cats .. might quiet it down a bit.

when i went to LTs I went to an offroad x-pipe and believe you me, it's loud.

I am thinking of doing that as well. I don't have headers but I do have the x pipe with no mufflers. I am thinking about removing the cats also. Did yours have a good sound to it?

I know this is the reverse but I'll tell it anyways. WHen I bought my car used, it had a Borla cat back (not xr1) and the x pipe with resonator. THe system was too quiet. So I bought a Bassani x pipe (no resonator) and installed it. THere was no difference in volume at all. My guess is the Borla X pipe with resonator will not quiet your system. Hope that helps a little.

i removed my cats when i put in my headers, so i dont know how it sounds w/o headers

i dont think i personally would remove the cats w/ just straights & an x-pipe cuz the sound you have now is probably one of the best you'll get.
