Mine are the 60 cc head. I've never had a problem with knock.

I run NGK TR6s in the summer heat and TR55s the rest of the time. Running a cooler thermostat helps of course - I run a 176*F Tstat in summer.

How do these compare to full CNC ported AFR's?

I have never had a problem with detonation. My tuner put in bigger injectors just to be sure and the a/f ratio is just right. I also run the NGK's and a 160 degree stat.

I'm running the 65cc heads on my GTO along with the baby cam GT2-3. Only put up 390/380 after tuning. Runs absolutely perfect and sounds completely stock. Very nice sleeper package. Waiting for the tracks to open to see how it does. Previous cam only ran 12.57@111.71.

But I think I'm going to step up on the cam after this summer. What's everybody running? I see a couple are running bigger cams with very good results I want a cam that matches the flow characteristics of these heads. So it looks like .600 lift would be the max from the flow results I've seen.

FWIW, mine are untouched. I do run a .045 Cometic gasket to bump up the compression to about ~10.7:1.

I have a 228/228 .590/.590 112lsa and it is great. It has a muscle car idle that shakes the antenna back and forth and pulls all the way to 7,000 RPM. Iv'e had many people come up and ask why my new car sounds like a nascar.

[QUOTE=turboc5]Thanks, Is detonation a big problem with the 60cc heads? I wil use the mls head gasket, at least thats are what people are recominding. The car no longer is my dd, just my toy. I don't mind it being a little radical on the street but if I track it I will put some 100 octane fuel in it. As long as I don't advance my timing too much I should be ok with the 60's right? If I go with the 65cc heads wil I lose much power? I wan't to keep the cr as high as I can and still drive it on pump gas, race it on 100. With the asa cam I would think it should blead off a lot of cylinder pressure and make it more pump gas freindly. Thanks for your expert opinion

In the really hot summer weather, I sometimes get a little detonation, so I just blend a few gallons of 100 octane in a tankfull of 93. When it's a little cooler, it's fine on 93.
