Default How to remove airbox on 2000?

I'm a former motorcycle mechanic so I'm no stranger to a wrench but the service manual is my friend. Right now, you guys are my service manual.
Can anyone help me out here before I go fumble around and figure it out myself?

Un-do the clips holding the filter cover.

Pull up on the frame / filter assembly until the filter is removed.

Then take a large screw driver / small pry bar and insert it between the left and right bottom corners of the filter lid and the frame rail.

Gently pry the filter cover away from the frame (held on by two rubber grommets).

Lift the filter cover off, then simply undo the clamp from the filter box to the MAF, remove AIR tube, etc.

It's pretty simple, kind of how it looks.......

If it's the same as my 02, you just remove the sensor that is cliped into the MAF, loosen the coupler (or take it off) pop the two pins out that hold the air duct in place, loosen and take off the MAF.

Then remove the air filter and remove those two clamps holding it in, take out that hose on the lower driver side that connects to the air box, and give the air box a good yank. There are two metal nipples that hold the air box in nice and snug so don't be alarmed when you hear them pop off.

It's pretty simple, if I missed a step, sorry, I'm just giving this all to you by memory.

Sounds good.
I swapped a K&N and bridge in with about 5 minutes of daylight left tonite and I wrestled a bit trying to get the box out to put in the gasket. I just didnt want to force or pry it until I was sure and I had no time. Sure recipe for breaking something if you dont check first.

I just stuck the K&N in without the gasket for a trip to Wally World. I'll get the box out tomorrow and do the gasket and open up the little Catholic high school girl size intake hole to crack ***** size.

Thanks guys.

If you plan on putting the airbox back in, I would be careful to not break off the front pins. You will need those to keep the box from rattling against the shroud. With the hood open, reach down in front of the airbox and push back toward the engine. You can pop the box off the pins either with your fingers or (carefully) with a large screwdriver. Once you have the box off the two pins the whole unit lifts out. I had more trouble getting the new smooth coupler on.
