Since I bought my 98' Vette the display on the A/C has never worked but the air condtioner has always worked fine.
Now it wont blow cold air though. Everytime I put hit the A/C button it blinks a couple of times then it puts the vent on. With the display not working I really dont know what the A/C is doing. Any idea why its suddenly not working? Could it be something simple?
I rather just keep it then poay $500+ for a whole new unit.
Definitely perform a manual diagnostics to see what specific trouble codes you may be throwing related to the HVAC problems you are experiencing. Right off the bat, you appear to at least have the temperature actuator failing. However, perform the diagnostic to narrow down the culprit causes. Hang in there.

Exactly how is a manual diagnostic done? I know that I sound like a noob.
your either low or out of refridgerant.that's why the light blinks and goes to econ.it knows that youwant a/c but the pressure switch is telling the a/c head that the juice is low.that means no a/c compressor engagement

that makes sense b/c the AC still allows me to adjust to HIGH/LOW but I can only adjust the vents air temp.
Where can I get a refill on refriderant? And is it hard to refill?

The leaking battery puts acid on the wirig harnesses, PCM and chassis components! NOT a good combo! The vacuum lines for the AC and A.I.R. controler run through the wiring harnesses. The acid causes the plastic vacuum lines to DISOLVE. When that happens, your AC will work but you will loose all of the vacuum that controls the vents and the air will "NORMALY" only blow out of the defrost vents and you will not be able to redirect it with the controls.
Probably not that, but something every should whatch out for. Once it happens, it's TOO LATE! Best ditch the old DELCO and get something else!
