My drivers side headlight will not go down. I can lower it manually, then turn the lights on, & it pops right back up, but won't go back down. So to recao, it will go up on its own, but not down. Do I need to replace the motor, or is there another fix.

Along with the fail to retract, does it also make an obnoxious buzzing noise when you turn off the lights?
I ask b/c along with the failure to close, the 'bad' side also made a grinding buzz (like stripped gear teeth) for several seconds after turning off the lights.
Replaced the motor fixed both the buzzing and the failure to retract.
There's a recall on the drivers side headlight, I think for the exact problem that you are talking about. I had problems with mine being slow to pop up. So instead of checking the forum for answers, I pulled the headlight motor apart and messed it up. Had to have it replaced. Check your local dealership. As scary as that may sound, it may save you some pain and $$$.
When you turn off the headlights does the driver's side go down and then come right back up? If so, there is a technical service bulletin out on that and here it is. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/....php?qstId=252
I was working the headlights on one occasion and managed to blow a fuse. I then had the same symptoms. Its an obscure fuse in the panel in the passenger footwell.
I found it by trial and error but another member who I mentioned this to who had a similar problem reckoned it was #6.
Top tip, don't forget the fuse panel cover fits upside down. Otherwise you'll have many happy hours trying to get it back on
