Default Cats Delete?

Hey guys I was wondering, a friend of mine told me that you could just delete the cats with like efy live or ls1 edit, is that really possible? Or should I just get some 02 simulators?

LS1Edit will delete the rear sensors.

But why not let your friend do it? He seems to have the answers.

Mech O2 sim or Electrical O2 sim solves the problem. Try casper electronics if you can't use EFI...

I use O2 simulators to avoid throwing codes, they help avoid codes whether you run cats or not, and I do run cats (the biggest I can find). It's illedgal not to, and while you can get away with it pretty easily, I believe its also "cheating" (Yeah, who cares? But I'd know). I also know from back to back dyno tests that it costs me 29 RWHP, but I still run cats.

So if I got my friend to do the cat delete I wouldn't have to get the 02 simulators?

Thanks, Jason.

Just to clarify: if you remove your cats, a few days later you will get a check light from the rear O2 sensors. The computer compares the front and rear sensors, and looks for a difference (caused by a properly functioning cat).

So, you have two choices: put O2 sims in place of the rear O2 sensors, to fool the computer. These work great, and do not cause any issues at all. Or you can use a pcm editor to delete the rear O2 sensor inputs to the computer, so it ignores them.

Either way, no codes, no erroneous signals - just a really bad smell coming out of your exhaust, and a really nice sound. 12hp gain on a stock car.
