I have always been a proponent of wet shots over 100hp, but I am thinking of putting a dry shot on my 04 Z06.
There are a few things I would like to know that I could not find info on in this forum.
1. What are the stock injecotors good up to as far as HP? Has anyone sprayed a 100 shot and logged their stock injector duty cycle?
2. MAF, what is the stock maf good up to as far as HP? Has anyone ever maxed out the maf spraying a 100 or less dry shot? What is the maf frequency threshold?
Basically, are you SMALL (under 100 shot) dry shot guys changing your injectors? Are you worrying about maxing the maf?
3. What can the stock fuel delivery system (pump) handle?
I know a guy that used to have a Z06 and had a 427 with 100 wet shot on stock pump ...ever since then i figured well holy **** if i just spray a 100 shot on my stocker then it will easily handle that, but I dont know if he really knew whether or not it was actually the stock pump. He might have been full of shi** cause that is hard for me to believe. But I have heard that the stock pump can support quite a bit...
I spray 150 shot all day and never have a problem..100% stock everything just make sure to put good gas in there...
Stock clutch? You are referring to a dry shot right? Have you ever logged anything and dyno'd it to check the AFR? I would be scared to do it without checking that stuff first.
I have sprayed 100 dry shot for awhile with everything stock but you would need to change plugs to ngk 6.I did get a tune to check air fuel ratio never had a problem.I have it up for sell in the parts sec.Now if you are going wet i still would not spray over 100 shot until you put new fuel pump in it.I know people have done more but it is better safe then sorry new motor cost alot.

Yeah NGK TR6's definitely. I am mostly worried about injectors, I think the stock pump is okay. Could always install a FPSS too.
That was one of the many reasons I went with the wet kit on my previous car - I only had to worry about one thing (fuel pump) not two (fuel pump and injectors).
I have 1999 C 5 which comes with 28 pound injectors and had no problems.04 Z06 i think you got bigger injectors from factory.
You have 26 lb'ers in your 99 C5. The 97-98 and 01-04 C5's have the 28.8 lb injectors.
I just bought stock 03 z06 injectors for my car as i'm installing a dry kit in the spring. Also i'm going to get some tr6's and then get in for a complete dyno tune for some peice of mind.
z0quick, I think you will be perfectly fine with a 100 shot. If your car is basically stock I wouldnt even get a tune. Just get it on a dyno and record the afr.
You should also talk to Robert56. He is the guru on z06 dry spraying.

Never heard of an injector failing. The stock ones can handle quit a bit. I hear people operating them at 100+ percent duty cycle on spray all the time without problem. There only working that hard for a 1/4 mile at a time!
The thing with wet is I would always worry about the fuel noid not opening or failing to close! Plus that whole blow your manifold off deal.
nos says they their wet systems take from 5-9 psi for the fuel. so make sure whatever ur engine requries the fuel pump can handle more than just the n20 fuel and wot fuel as well.

When I said I didn't have to worry about the injectors I was referring to exceeding their maximum safe duty cycle not to them failing to work.
When I get the kit on the car I will test the DC and report back here what it is. I agree that using 100% is fine for nitrous use since it is only a very quick usage, but if the DC is anything over 100 I will be changing the injectors.
Even 110-130% is usually okay, but when it is so simple to change injectors on these cars, you have no excuse.
Deliver the fuel and you will never have a problem!
Also, you guys spraying your stock Z06's, have you had any clutch issues? I know you cant spray off the line on a stock z06 clutch, but what about 2nd gear and up...???
