I entered a code for my stereo and it took it because the red light started blinking. I cannot get the deck to accept the code though. Is there a sequence or button I am missing? I press the mn button and enter my code then press the am fm button, but it doesn't unlock... :(
After getting the "inop" code, I let the Vette sit for an hour and now when I press 2&3 keys I get the code 362 and when I press the amfm button I get the code 368....anyone know what to do next?
1) Press 2&3 buttons until a three digit code appears
2) Press the AMFM button and a second three digit code appears
3) Call your dealer and they will get the master code specific to your stereo. This code supercedes any code you may put in yourself.

I went thru this ordeal last week and got my backup code. It was a nightmare. They wanted to charge me labour for this menial thing. I finally got a mid west dealer I did not even know, called out of the blue, and they called GM and game me my backup code.
It's a real headache if you forget this number, or buy a used vette and not have the original #

That sux... :mad The Chevy dealer I went to was very  . Didn't buy the Vette there but they helped me out free of charge anyway. Did buy a S10 there last February but the service guy didn't know that...
Using the Theft lock feature is a waste of time. The C5 head unit will not work ina any other vehicle. The head unit is controlled by the C5 BCM. No BCM, and the stereo will not even turn on.
