Like stated above, its a 372 c.i. block.
They name it the Mallett 435 due to its horsepower.
435 at the rear wheels-- roughly 500 crank horsepower.

Actually the name came from it being rated at 435HP and 450 TQ at the crank when it was introduced in 1998. It is rated 500 Hp now if you have LS6 heads and intake.

You have to remember that in 1998 when it was introduced there was no LS6 or aftermarket heads or much else. Back then a large cam was a 220 with 0.530 lift. The vette had 345HP and there wasn't any Z06. It ran a low 12 sec at 117 mph which was pretty much faster then anything around. It also was federal emissions legal unlike almost anything built today.

It was and is pricey but there are other things included in the package. But the Z06 pretty much killed it and they've only built a few in the last several years. They also sold heads and cam packages known as the 396 and the Hammer.
