Was checking the oil yesterday and noticed my Halltech Stinger air filter looked pretty dirty. Took it off and simple greened, dried, oiled, and put it back on.
What a difference today! Noticably better throttle response and a deeper exhaust sound. Gonna have to keep it cleaner from now on. Reminds me of why no one should be running their stock air box. Zip-tie should be the mandatory minimum base mod.
I've had mine on about a year and a half. This is the second time I've cleaned it. However, I have cut out the fog light surrounds and I drive it every weekday about 40 miles round trip, so I don't expect it to stay clean for long. I think the basic recommendation is to clean it every 10,000 miles. I probably have cleaned mine every 8000 or so. And, I probably should start doing it every 5000 from now on.
