I used them on my 68's battery but then again, there weren't too many settings to worry about in that car. They do work well for older vehicles, but a Battery Tender Plus is the way to go if mid-term storage is the goal. If you're talking about not driving your car for the whole Winter AND you don't have easy access to it, I'd just remove the battery completely.
