Default Speed Bleeders

I did a search but didn't come up with much.

I've heard about them but not sure what they are.

Will they allow me to bleed brakes by myself or not??

Yes you can do the bleed by yourself.
There are a number of copies that do not work as well as the ones from SpeedBleeder.
Your size is SB1010 or if you want stainless steel SB1010S

I found an old locked thread where some guys were bashing these things. They would either not fit correctly or would leak....

I assume the stainless steel ones are better...not talking a lot of $$$.

I assume installing them is rather messy????
And I assume you need to use them immediately to rebleed???

After you use them a few times you may need to reseal them because they will leak. Place a tube (fish tank) on your stock bleed valve and place it in a bottle half full of old brake fluid submerged. Then just pump the pedal 3-5 times short stroke and slow at fist and you don't need them. You will get to know how many pumps you need to bleed off enough fluid. No air will get back into the system.

They leaked on my car. I bought a pressure bleeder instead. Works better for me.

Get'em Howie, you'll like'em. Makes bleeding (by yourself) way easy.

BTW, if your bleeder screw rubber caps are torn/damaged I would recommend replacing them. When I checked, the GM part# for these seems to be 14089150. Cheap insurance and they keep the crap out of your bleeders. HTH

I checked their website.
Sb1010 and SB1010S are actually TWO different sizes!!!!!

They have both in stainless with the "SS" apendix indicating stainless.

So which is the correct size???

I contacted Speedbleeders direct and they told me SB1010S is the correct size. So I ordered four. You should to.

I had a Speedbleeder set for my Caprice 9C1. They spitted all over - I ended up putting the old pieces back in and doing it the old fashioned way. I was going to get a refund but I didn't want to deal with it. I hope yours work.

This past weekend we installed the speed bleeders on my '99 and also found that the SB1010 were the wrong size. They leaked all over the place. We tried tightening them more to stop the leak before we realized they were the wrong ones, hopefully the threads are not striped.
The SB1010S worked perfectly though.
Unfortunately, we did not have enough for all of them, so we will have to go back and do it again!
