Go to Sears and buy a 12 volt one that plugs into your lighter. Works just fine and takes up very little room.

Or if you have a half decent garage and want to find an excuse to get yourself some air tools get one of the small Campbell-Hausfeld (spell check?) ones with a 10/15gal tank from Home Depot or Sears, Take up very little space and will do everything you want it to.

If i had a garage I'd have one. Ive got one of the little 12v ones like mentioned above though.

I have a 12V cigarette ligher plug in one that stays in the trunk....
They can be as cheap as $5 on sale but normally $15-20

In the garage isa Campbell Hausfeld 5.5HP,22 gallon 150psi direct drive compressor. They normally run($300+/-) It has the capacity I need . The key is to look at the air reqiurements (cfm@90psi ) of your tools and buy one the right size. If you buy a smaller one, the compressor runs a lot longer shortening its life and you constantly run out of air and have to wait for the compressor to catch up....

I have a 5hp, 60 gallon upright tank, Sears compressor (made by DeVilbiss). It keeps the tires well inflated....As well as the air tools spinning, the sandblaster blasting, and the paint guns spraying!

Currently, I have a small Cambell Hausfeld, but I hope to have a belt-driven Ingersall-Rand Garagemate or Quincy one of these days.

I have a Cambell-Hausfeld pancake compressor that I use for my air nail guns. Just add the tire inflation nub and away you go. Works great.
