Both are good. I'm leaning towards EFI Live due to the better custormer survice and updates.

Hey Bill, wasn't you leaning towards HP Tuners in the past? I'm leaning towards EFI Live myself. Anyone know if EFI Live does group purchases? A really good deal would definitely tip my scale into a purchase!
Having both, each is easy to use and understand. EFI LIve is more windows internet explorer based, while HP Tuners is more windows/tab folder based.
That statement is a little dated unless I don't have a good understanding of what you mean by "Internet Explorer Based".
The newer version(s) of HP Tuners (2.x) released last year (now) have both tab based (original) and new explorer based interfaces. I can't comment on EFI live because I haven't seen it since a couple of years ago and that was a demo I received when I purchased AutoTap. I can say this, the HP Tuners in my opinion is absolutely awesome. The new version allows you to compare tunes and highlight where they are the same and/or different as well as a lot of other tools that I have only looked at but not totally explored. Needless to say, I'm a huge HP Tuners fan.

Yea,,,I went from likeing LS-1 Edit, to HP Tuners and once I saw EFI Love, it's a have to have item!
Has anyone here used TunerCat? I used it on my LT1 and also my TBI truck and it works great. My friend bought Tunercat for his 1997 C5 and we were able to tweak quite a few settings to get him some extra hp on the dyno. I like it because its not vin locked and you can tune as many 1997-1998 C5's with a definition file as you want. If someone can explain what "extra" things they can tune with one program over another it would help everyone make a better decision.
EFIlive and HP Tuners have basically the same tables available. No differences that would unlock "hidden horsepower". Both can be integrated with a Wideband O2 sensor for tuning VE, AFR etc.
EFILive's customer support and their Forum (see here -> http://efiforum.iqd.co.nz/ ) are the finest I've seen in any industry.
I don't think they sleep down under - they work 24/7.
EFILive V7 /FlashScan unlimited free software upgrades. Their custom "MAPS" allow scanning/recording and then copy/paste new tables for your tune/file - no more excel spread sheets!! Too easy.
EFILive V7 /FlashScan Commercial License allows use of Custom Operating Systems. Very slick for Boosted apps and or Speed Density tuning.
I believe HP Tuners is an Excellent tuning package ( I have both HP Tuners v2.0 and EFILive/FlashScan Commercial). Unfortunately, for HP Tuners, their main competition is EFILive.
