Default belt replacement today

replacing serpenteen belt, how do you get this on? tricks to prying the slack adjuster?

Which of the two belts are you changing? They are both serpentine belts.
Just back off on the tensioner to relieve pressure and remove the belt...
You need to remove the Drive belt to get to the ac belt... If you are replacing one , you should replace the other. When replacing the belts you should make sure the pulleys are all clean. sometimes oil, grime and sand gets wedged into the valleys. A toothbrush will work. Putting the new belt on requires that you move the tensioner to its full stroke, then route the belt, then relieve the torque and allow the tensioner to take up the slack.

Thanks. Got it done. I did find out the that if you route the belt on the tinsion pully then push on it to give slack. then slide the belt under the water pump, it makes it easy. DONE

Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory
Removal Procedure




Position a hex-head socket on the drive belt tensioner pulley.
Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise to reduce tension on the accessory drive belt during removal or installation.



Remove the accessory drive belt (5).

Important
In order for the belt to track properly, both the belt grooves and the crankshaft balancer grooves should be free of all dirt or debris.


Clean the belt grooves of all dirt or debris with a wire brush.
Clean the crankshaft balancer grooves of all dirt or debris with solvent.
Dry the crankshaft balancer with compressed air.
Installation Procedure




Route the accessory drive belt (5).
Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise to reduce tension on the accessory drive belt.
Position the drive belt on the water pump pulley last.
Inspect to insure that the accessory drive belt is aligned properly in the power steering pump pulley, idler, generator, crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and the tensioner grooves.
