Default Prime oil pum?

Is there any way to prime our oil pumps. What is the best way to protect that first start other than lots o assembly lube?

I didn't prime my new pump when I installed it. Oil pressure came up within 5 seconds and have had no probs.at all.

When I cleaned my pump, I simply poured in as much oil as it would hold, then installed. Worked out fine.

I did when I swaped to a forged lower end.....no injector harness, no spark plugs to allow a high speed spin-up, and coil packs left off....just spin. With the valve cover removed it had oil to the top.

So get everything together minus plugs coil packs and injector plugs and turn the key for a few seconds wait a few minutes turn key for a few seconds till oil gets to the top of the motor.. makes sense but doesnt it take quite a few turns to get oil up that far?? seems it takes some people 5 seconds of 800rom idle ??

I left the coil packs in place and simply took out the fuse to the fuel pump. Never had the motor kick over until I put the fuse back in..
