Default 4" airbridge custom pics...

With my new motor I decided to sell all of the air bridges I had and make one from scratch, took me about 15 minutes with a bandsaw and my tig welder. End result is good but can always be better. Enjoy!

Don't really know, just know that the intake is only as good as its restriction or restrictor plate. No MAF or small air bridge on this motor.

Thanks guys, actually a friend of mine who I used to race DSM's with turned me onto a company that sells aluminum 4" mandrel bend U bends. We purchased 2 u-bends and 12" of pipe. They are for intercoolers and turbo cold side pipes.

Damn I bet that flows well! Very nice work. And you are right, your flow is only as good as the most restricted point.

Hi Phil -

Nice!

Will the hood close down ok, or would a stock hood bulge up in the middle using that large an air bridge?

Nice work and thanks for the great idea!

best regards -

When we mocked it up, we used a string to mark the height of the factory bridge. This setup is the same height as the factory. We are going to lower the radiator slightly to make sure it fits like a glove.

I'm assuming the hood closes normally... so w/o a MAF at all is it a speed density tune? In layman's terms how does the engine monitor air flow and adjust fuel accordingly... is there a different sensor somewhere?

Please let us know what the NA dyno numbers are.

Map sensor + IAT + VE table will be used for fueling. Hood will close just like it did before.

If this will work with the stock hood, then it will be a great alternative for the guys running high boost. It looks a lot better than the BBK unit and should flow better as well.

However I thought Phil was running a cowl hood, so he has more clearance. I wonder if it is possible to just lower the radiator some without laying it over.

Great work!

Chris,
No cowl hood here, just a lowered radiator.
