Does arp make stainless steel head studs for a 2000 ls1? Ive seen them on some engines, just can't find them for ls1's. Not to sound "ricy" but I don't want the chromolly ones to rust. The ss would look better and if they both seal, whats the diffrence.

After working on food processing machinery for the past 10 yrs. Stainless and aluminum don't mix well sometimes. I've had the standart head studs in for almost 2 years now, without a rusting issue, and I actually wash the engine bay

Also, The price was pretty "out there" when I priced head studs for out buildup. I ended up with the ARP Head Bolt kit. Still cost a pretty $.01, but still!

Stainless only goes to grade 5 those arp bolts are at least a grade 8.

You definately do not want SS head bolts. Satinless steel does not
have the proper strech characteristics for the head bolt application.
Go to www.arp-bolts.com and look at their catalog I don't think that
they even offer SS head bolts.

Very good points! I didn't think about dissimular metals. The stainless ones were probly just for show. I will go with the chomolly ones. Thanks

For show? If you are looking at your head bolts more than once a year, I'd say you have more problems than how pretty they are!

Unless they are making transparent aluminum valve covers, now there's an idea!

I'm defandly not that worried about the way the engine looks, I've seen ss head bolts before on sbc's and was just wondering if they are available. I just dont want any rusty nuts

The black oxide finish should keep the rust at bay, and the use of their lube during installation should protect the finish during the tightening process. I have ordered their 12 point stud kit for my Dart head installation I am planning for this spring.
