Squeakily front axis? Need help!
I have a problem with my 2002 Z51 C5 I bought used. It is not the typical squeak you get from the stabiliser bar, it’s more like on a conventional spring if the spring seat is dirty.
At the beginning this noise only was audible when both front wheels were significantly relieved (i.e. speed bump). Meanwhile I can here this noise everywhere I go…it’s horrible and hard to describe. My rear axis has a louder groan, but only if I am going around corners very slowly (parking lot).
I have no clue what to do with the front axis (in the rear I will use some silicon based grease for the stabilizer bushings).
I also have an 100% stock 2003 Z51 C5 which I bought new so I started to compare the axis. I did recognise one difference at the screw where one can lower the front.
On my 2003 there is a plastic cover clearly visible on this screw while on my noisy 2002 this cover is pressed all the way down in the spring. Is that a problem?
