Default How come I don't hear much about Katech?

A lot of tuner talk going on and hardly any one talks about Katech?
They don't install mod's to street cars, only race but it seems to me that there list of wins with there motors can't be beat, so why isn't any one dying to use there heads and cam?
I ask because I'm shopping for heads and cam and find it hard not to notice there goods.
Yes I know they aren't a tuner per say because of the no install and tune but they still back there goods.
I was looking at there LS6 stage II heads with cam and ported throtle body.
Add to that long tube headers and LS6 intake.
How would you compair Katech to ARE (only a couple of hours away) I have a mechanic and was thinking I could save some cash on the install (My guy needs a interior in his Camaro) Nice trade, engine work for interior work.

PS. I haven't bought any parts yet. Leather for headers? LS-6 intake? ;)

Ken

I can't tell you why they aren't discussed much here. They are the real deal and top notch. They sell to the public and their packages are proven where it counts to many folks... racing against top competition.

They are who I'm going to for heads/cam/etc. as soon as my schedule slows a bit.

I've heard plenty about KaTech - all very good!

I'm preparing to purchase a set of KaTech Stage III Heads and Cam for my Z06. Figure another 2 months and the setup will be mine!

Katech products are top notch and we cannot say enough good things about them! Thats why we decided to offer their products and become a dealer for them earlier in the year. We sell and install their head and cam packages along with their motor pkgs often. In fact, we have three head and cam installs this month starting next week all with Katech products. We will post our dyno results soon if anyone is interested. With all the right mods in place, 410-420 rwhp on a LS1 is an easy task. The difference being, great flat curves, hp and trq coming on stong at the low rpms. Not like most tuners packages you see!

Nate,

Where is your shop. I have total faith in Katech's stuff. I have been holding off for a time to get the work done in the Detroit area when I'm there and the car is there. A no BS shop is hard to find and if your folks wrench more than they talk, I'm interested.

I have good folks I know here in Florida, but racing seasons run all year now... so I won't impose on guys trying to clinch a championship.

My home e-mail is rbyther1@tampabay.rr.com.

I've been to the Katech shop in Clinton Township and it's THE REAL DEAL.

Hell Mr Byther! Hey, Katech builds the C5-R engines, and that should be good enought for anyone! I have spoken to them several times about racing engines, but the distance is an issue (as well as funding this year).

They seem to have great tech and customer support, and GM Racing thinks a lot of them!

Thanks guys, I was starting to think I picked a company with a bad secret that I didn't know about.

I drove MattG's Vette on Sunday at a auto-x, I was doing 120 before I knew it, he has ARE heads and cam and loves them and after driving it I know why, not only was it fast but it stuck to the road, after driving his Vette we went out in mine and did the same thing, I got his at least 15 mph faster in the same distance and road than mine and while sweeping around a bend in the road his felt like it was glued to it and mine I had to think alittle more about speed and smoothness.
He has the Goodrich KDs and I have the KD SSS (runcraps) I will be losing the runcraps when the rubber is gone, that should be soon :D
Thanks again Matt...
Matt your making hard for me to stay with the Katech plan, the ARE package sounds and felt great.. :D
Once the top end job is done I plane on adding nitrous to the party :yesnod:
No trades out there?? Oh well I had to try....

Thanks again for the help guys.

Ken

fastdog, we are located in Lubbock Texas but have a new shop opening in Tempe, AZ.
I know we are not close to you as far as location, but we have an enclosed trailer to pick up and deliver your car! :D

Right you are David. I definately am familiar with Katech.

Their restrictor engines seem to be adequate and a better choice in the R car for dropping some weight.

Congrats on the respectable showing at Portland. 2nd among the 'vettes, correct? How's that new motor coming? Good to know you are getting some assistance.
