Default Tire Size ?????

I have an 04 Zo6. I'm wanting to know the widest tire I can run on a stock Z rear wheel? What tires are you guys running in place of the supercars? Were's the best place to buy these tires?

I ran a 315/30/18 on stock size Z06 wheels, (18x10.5). I have seen pics of a 335 on a stock wheel, looked ok, I would not do it.

My 315 stuck out probably a little less than a qtr inch pass the top of the fender.

After I got them on I wish I would have stayed with the 295. I just did not like the idea of them sticking out, although it is slight you still get spray on the fender from the 315's.

315 is really the widest you should run on a stock wheel. Any bigger, you really need a wider wheel.

Pilot Sports seem to last longer than the GY's.

Thanks guys for your responces. I will checkout discout tire and see if they meet my needs. Looks like I'll stay with the 295's for my rears. Better to ask you guys than get stuck with an exspensive set of tires I can't use.

Thanks again

Unfortunately, you are even more limited with stock o.e. C5 Z06 wheels. Frankly, this is so because multiple Plus 0 tire sizing (i.e., 305/30-18 for the rear, AND, 275/35-17 matching Plus 0 fronts for the Corvette C5 Z06), and, such availability is sadly virtually non-existent for the C5 Z06 except in a rear drag radial tire (i.e., Hoosiers A3S05's, and, Kumho's ECSTA V700 in an competition only 305/30-18 tire with 6/32 T.D.). Moreover, a 10.5 inch wide wheel can accommodate an 295mm tire, AND, an 305mm tire, as well. However, actual appropriate tire sizing availability will always be the deciding factor. It is because of these issues that many C5 owners opt for purchasing true aftermarket custom wheels in 18, 19, and, even 20 inch diameter wheels. Custom wheels CAN be made into many different wheel widths, and, custom offset fitments to accommodate a wider range of tire sizing that is still dependent upon the specific application (vehicle type), and, performance goals of the consumer (daily driver, or, dedicated track car). Good luck to you.
