I think my fuel pump is dead i turned the key and the car tries to turn but it wont. when i turn the key to the on position the pump makes no whining noice. can it be any other problem.
you could check fuse 20[fuel pump],could be a relay, could be a pcm.check the car for faults, see if it stored anything.most likely though the fuel pump went poof.

fuse 20? is that under the hood or in the passanger kick panal? which one do i check?
the fuse you want to look at is #13 which is a 20amp[my fault].it is under the hood,it says f/pmp
Thanks. how do i test it?
I have one of those tester deals in my trunk it has like a clamp and a with a wire and a needle with a tiny light bolb at the end? am i suppost to use that? do i clamp it on the battery?

ok,the tester deal i'm assuming is a test light[clamp on one end and at the other end a metal point in a case with a bulb inside].take the clamp and hook it to the negative battery cable[black cable],turn the key on,but don't try and start it.if you look at the top of the fuse you will what looks like 2 silver dots,1 on each side of the fuse rating[20],now take the pointed end and touch one of the silver dots, the light should light up,then check the other the same way,it should also light,if it doesn't the fuse is blown, replace it.

cool!
if it is my fuel pump. how do i know if my warranty is expired?
The pump only makes a noise for a couple of seconds when you first turn on the key. It then shuts of until the engine starts. There are other things like relays etc. that can prevent the car from starting. This needs thorough checking before assuming it is the pump.

when i turn the key it will not make anykind of noise. it used to whin a little but now it wont make nothing.
I tested the fuse box fuse 13 will not light up but nither will the top half of the fuses. the 6 big ones light up and a couple of the small ones on the bottom do but the ones on the top half don't. anyone know why?
Buy a $35 fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to the shrader valve on the end of the fuel rail... if you have constant fuel pressure... the pump is fine.

Exactly what I would try after checking the fuse. I would also check the fuel filter.
Your best bet is to purchase an inexpensive Volt-Ohm Meter from Radio Shack or Wall mart and learn how to use it. The other half of the power equation is the ground system. Does your fuel gage work? The fuel gage and fuel pump is grounded by the same ground G-401.
You also have a fuel pump relay. Some of the fuel system is monitored by the DTC. See if you have any error codes:

Yep,, That would be my first bet! Get that meter and start looking for that bad component, loose wire or a bad ground! I will see if I can get you a schematic to look at.
